June Studio Spotlight

This month we get to take a look inside Siham Salah’s Project Studio at ArtsHub Ortona. Siham Salah (b. 1995) is an Edmonton-based painter whose work explores landscape as a vessel for memory, identity, and belonging. Drawing inspiration from both the natural environments of Canada and the landscapes of east Africa, her paintings reflect experiences of immigration, cultural connection, and the passage of time. Working primarily in gouache and water-mixable oils, Siham is interested in how changing seasons, shifting light, and familiar places can evoke personal and collective histories. Through her practice, she creates spaces for reflection, inviting viewers to consider their own relationships to place, home, and memory.
