Book Club

February 22nd
6:30 pm
McLuhan House

Although Marshall McLuhan didn’t live to see the internet, many have argued that his concept of the “global village” predicted its birth. He believed that through the use of electronic media, the information system would become global and people would have information available to them everywhere. “One of the effects of living with electric information is that we live habitually in a state of information overload. There’s always more than you can cope with” he is quoted as saying. His ideas were controversial at the time and in honoring his leadership in this realm, our newly launched book club will inspire those that join to keep an open mind and enjoy many genres of writing.

Each month we will meet on the last Thursday to discover a local author. Not only will we be reading their books, but when possible, the author will be at the meeting with us! We invite you to join us in opening your mind to new and creative ideas.

Audrey’s Books has agreed to ensure that the books we are choosing will be available through their store. They also have a special gift for our members! To find out more, plan to attend the meetings. Space is limited, and we have room for about 20 participants. You can join by signing up on our page by clicking here. Please consider joining us.
